Located at 889 Tahoe Blvd. in Incline Village, Nevada, our nonprofit thrift store brings affordable shopping, community support, wildfire recovery and animal rescue together under one roof.
As part of Safer Chemistry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is simple: turn everyday shopping into meaningful support for the people, animals and communities that need it most.
Whether you're searching for home décor, clothing, collectibles, gifts or everyday essentials, you'll find something special while contributing to causes that matter.
Great finds for a greater cause
At Incline Tahoe Thrift Store, we believe giving back should be part of everyday life.
Our store offers an ever-changing selection of donated and secondhand merchandise, so shoppers can discover quality items at affordable prices. From vintage collectibles and decorative accents to clothing, accessories, books and unexpected treasures, there's always something new to explore.
But what truly sets our store apart is what happens beyond the checkout counter. Our nonprofit mission focuses on three causes:
- Helping wildfire victims. Supporting families and individuals affected by devastating wildfires.
- Supporting animal rescues. Helping organizations protect and care for rescued animals, including wildlife.
- Promoting proactive wildfire defense. Raising awareness of fire prevention and supporting solutions that help protect homes, properties and communities.
When you shop with us, you're supporting a larger mission dedicated to making a positive difference.
Helping families rebuild after wildfires
Wildfires can change lives in an instant.
For families who lose their homes, the challenges don't end when the flames are out. Recovering from a wildfire often means navigating insurance complications, rebuilding expenses, architectural plans, permits and months — or even years — of uncertainty.
Through Safer Chemistry's nonprofit efforts, we've already helped families facing these challenges. In 2025, we assisted a single mother of two who had lost her insurance coverage six months before the devastating Palisades Fire. Our organization paid for the architectural and engineering work needed to reconstruct her home, preparing the project for permitting.
This is the kind of meaningful, direct assistance we want to keep providing. Every purchase at Incline Tahoe Thrift Store helps support our mission of assisting wildfire victims and strengthening communities affected by natural disasters.
Supporting animal rescue and wildlife protection
Animals are often among the most vulnerable victims of wildfires and other natural disasters. From household pets displaced by emergencies to wildlife in threatened habitats, these animals depend on dedicated rescue organizations and compassionate individuals for protection.
One of our nonprofit initiatives installed a wildfire defense sprinkler system at a wolf rescue facility in San Diego, adding a layer of protection for the animals and their habitat against wildfire threats.
We believe animal rescue organizations deserve the same access to proactive wildfire protection as homeowners and businesses. Through Incline Tahoe Thrift Store, we hope to expand our support for animal rescue facilities, wildlife sanctuaries and other organizations working to protect vulnerable animals.
Are you involved with an animal rescue or wildlife habitat that could benefit from assistance? We encourage you to reach out and share your story.
Promoting safer, smarter wildfire defense
Living in the Lake Tahoe region means enjoying some of the most spectacular natural surroundings in the country. It also means understanding the importance of wildfire preparedness.
Protecting our homes, forests, neighborhoods and wildlife requires more than reacting when a wildfire approaches. It requires proactive planning, education and effective prevention strategies.
Through our nonprofit initiatives, we promote greater awareness of wildfire defense technologies, including sprinkler systems and fire-retardant products. The fire retardant we feature in our educational efforts is the only one certified under the EPA Safer Choice program.
We encourage homeowners to research available wildfire protection solutions, understand their limitations and take practical steps to reduce fire risk around their properties. Our goal is to help create safer, more resilient communities throughout the Lake Tahoe region and beyond.
Celebrate the holidays with Christmas trees and a great cause
The holiday season is a special time at Incline Tahoe Thrift Store. This year, we're excited to offer Christmas trees as part of our seasonal fundraising.
Customers will also have the opportunity to get a bottle of Christmas Tree Fire Defender Spray with their tree.
Holiday decorating should be festive, but fire safety should always remain a priority. Christmas trees can become a serious fire hazard when they dry out or sit too close to heat sources. Proper watering, safe lighting and responsible placement remain essential parts of holiday fire prevention. Our seasonal offerings combine holiday traditions with greater awareness of fire safety.
And while you're visiting, explore our selection of unique gifts, decorations, collectibles and other holiday treasures. Give gifts that give back this holiday season.
